The Virelle Literary Society is a reader-centered literary community built around discovering books, creating meaningful conversations around literature, connecting readers with authors and creating opportunities for authors to engage directly with interested readers.
We welcome authors who want their work to be read, discussed and experienced as more than a promotional listing.
How it works
From submission to conversation
Our Team Reviews It
Our literary team considers submissions as part of the Society's ongoing reading and programming plans. A submission does not automatically guarantee placement.
A Program May Be Identified
When a book is selected, we determine the Society experience that best fits the work. This may include a reading experience, literary spotlight, author conversation, reader discussion or another appropriate Society program.
Meet the Readers
Where appropriate, authors may join readers through live conversations, questions and answers, chapter discussions or other community experiences connected with the book.
Continue the Conversation
The goal is not simply to place a book in front of people. The goal is to create meaningful reader engagement, conversation and discovery around the work.
Author Support
Opportunity should not depend on a package.
Virelle is moving toward a support-led model so that participation opportunities are not defined solely by an author's ability to purchase a promotional package.
Authors do not need to purchase a monthly placement package simply to submit a book for consideration.
Where resources are available, Virelle may provide or support opportunities for selected authors through the Society's Author Support Fund and community contributions.

An Important Note
Selection remains thoughtful and independent.
Submitting a book to Virelle does not guarantee selection, placement, sales, reviews or a particular level of reader response.
Our role is to create genuine opportunities for literary discovery and conversation, while allowing the community and our programming process to guide which books we feature.
