Biography
Emily Cannan is the Founder and Executive Director of The Virelle Literary Society. She provides the organization's overall leadership and helps shape its direction, standards, culture, and long-term vision. Emily's founding philosophy centers on a simple belief: books can create meaningful connections between people when readers are given space to discuss, discover, and participate together. As Founder, she oversees the Society as a whole and works across departments to keep the organization's literary, community, author, and operational goals aligned.
Role at Virelle
Provides executive leadership across every department and holds final approval on major Society initiatives.
I wanted to create a place where a book could become more than something we read alone — a place where stories could become conversations, conversations could become connections, and readers and authors could meet in a meaningful way.
